The One-o-seventh Royal Dutch Undergroud Company (O.R.D.U.C.) was founded in 1971.
At first O.R.D.U.C. was a band which wanted to play a mixture of Frank Zappa's and Pink Floyd's (up to 1971). But after some time two member left for various reasons and the founder Nico Selen decided to go on with O.R.D.U.C. as a project for experimental music. Over the years this changed via minimal music, punk, new wave to minimal synth.

In 1980 O.R.D.U.C. released the track “Crazy Computer” on the Plurex compilation-EP “17 to 7 on 33”. It made O.R.D.U.C. “world famous”. At the end of 1980 the cassette-album “Pre Pink & Purple” was completed and released in February 1981. In May 1981 the album “Pink & Purple” followed including “I Am So Glad The King Is Dead” (in 1979 recorded by the Vopos) and “Decadent”. Later that year the albums “Fast Foreward” and “New Cubism” were released on cassette and in 1984 the compilation album “The Beatear”.

In the fall of 1988 O.R.D.U.C. recorded the album “D-Train”, which is quite different from the other works by O.R.D.U.C., in fact a live album, with two studio albums. It was released in a very limited edition on cassette.

Though in the 90-ties two live shows were prepared and some reordings made, only one EP was released: “Bonus-Tracks” in 1998.
In 2007 “Deca-Dance”, a overdubbed remix from “Decadent”, was released on the compilation album Elektrik Underground 20YM.
From 2004 onwards, each year several tracks were recorded. In 2009 O.R.D.U.C.’s first single “Auto” was released. At the end of that year 13 tracks were released on the LP “107”.

Early 2010 the compilation EP “Iron Jubilee” was released with six tracks from three different albums all recorded in 1981. Later that year “Do”, an EP with eight recently recorded/remixed tracks, was released. At the end of that year another pair of remixes “De Zee” and “Rain”, were released on the compilation “EU10”.

In 2011 “Ruby Jubilee” a compilation-LP, was released to celebrate O.R.D.U.C.’s 40th anniversary. Also the EP “Fragments” and the single “Help” were released that year.
The next year a lot of remixes were released on three various artists compilations. In 2013 a first version of “Shifting Times” was released on the EU13 compilation. The next year the “Transistor Child” single was not released for sale, but given to some friends.

From 2015 to 2020 O.R.D.U.C. worked on the LP album "Shifting Times", which was released 2021. Also two casstte EP's were released that year. In 2022 the albums “Fast Forward” (a instrumental release from the 1981 promo), “Or Dub” (an album with dubs from tracks original recorded from 1980 to 1984) and “Elements” were released on cassette. The latter a compilation of eight edited tracks from in 2022 available works by O.R.D.U.C..

For 2023 is a new album planned, for which recordings are in progress.
